Bitwalking: Share The Belief And Benefits Of A New, Equal, Global Economy For All: See Latest Commments
Bitwalking - Earn Digital Currency Just by Walking
Recently a totally new concept was launched in some countries, including the UK, based on the exciting digital or crypto currency innovations of recent years, that could actually empower individuals to convert their daily steps into digital money that they can spend, save or whatever, just like our existing currencies. ‘Bitwalking’, as it has been named, could effectively give everyone the freedom and opportunity simply to make money by walking!
What is important is that a step will have exactly the same worth i.e. the same value, for everyone - no matter who they are, or where they are from around the globe. What will matter is how much you walk. So the idea is that everyone, at all levels of our global society, in whatever country around the world will, from now on, have the freedom and ability, to generate their own funds simply by digitally tracking their actions / movement, a bit like with a jogging app for example.
Until now most people were unable to generate and benefit from such digital currencies, with large populations in Africa and the developing world still left without bank accounts. Bitwalking says it is a new organisation that is inviting everyone to ‘take the next step’. It will allow everyone, not only to generate money, but also to manage and use it as well. The money each person generates will accumulate daily, and remain in an account until transferred or spent. Users of the new BW$ will then have equal opportunity to:
1) Trade or exchange money with each other,
2) Make purchases at Bitwalking’s marketplace, and
3) Connect with third party partners - local businesses, online retailers, brands, charities and local governments
‘Bitwalking’ is, in fact, a simple app or program which you can download to your smart phone. The concept is also supported by a Japaneese firm called MuRata and, of course, it is completely free like so many other similar apps. It can be found and requested on the ‘Bitwalking’ website www.bitwalking.com .Once your request has been approved, they will e-mail you simple instructions for downloading the app on to your mobile phone. Personally I have now received an email from the Bitwalking Team saying I am on their list but that they are sending out a limited number of invitations each week and hope to send mine soon.
The app actually validates and converts your steps into the new ‘Bitwalking’ Dollars (BW$). The BW$ is real money; real currency that you can manage and use as you wish. Bitwalking is not at all like a reward system, points system, mileage system, game or fitness app. You will not be paid for walking but will be ‘generating’ money by walking on your own which is what the app records. Unlike other digital currencies that are ‘mined’ by computers, BW$ are generated by human movement - walking.
Once you have generated BW$, you will be able to make purchases at ‘Bitwalking’s’ in-app marketplace, then trade BW$ with other users, and make purchases with third party partners in the organisations community. You will accumulate BW$ each day and they will remain in your digital wallet (the app) until transferred or spent.
In addition, walking is, of course, healthier for us and means less use of vehicles, which in turn means less pollution for us and the planet; So Bitwalking is a green and healthy and sustainable concept too! You can discover more here:
The concept of virtual currencies has been receiving more and more attention in recent years. In Luxembourg we have been developing a Financial Technology hub which is active in these areas. Indeed the CSSF (Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier), the regulatory body in Luxembourg has already agreed that one of the main digital currencies ‘ Bitcoin’ can be used as a means of payment declaring that it is “open for business” and ready to develop innovative and flexible regulation by providing “BitLicense” agreements.
What may be the driving force here is the growing influence of social capital and social enterprise to combat some of the issues encountered with more capitalist concepts since the financial crisis in 2008. We would like to further discuss and share these concepts with readers in future articles and through a future web site: wwww.finance-eco-money.org

An interesting concept and hopefully one that actually realises its full potential. This could have far-reaching effects, especially in areas transport-poor. I guess one of the problems would be getting more people on board, not just users, but a proper marketplace where people can spend their BW$ for whatever they want/need.

We understand it’s been a busy time for Bitwalking, and at present they have kept the details confidential. They want us, their early followers, to be the first to get an in-depth look into Bitwalking and to participate, from the beginning, in a movement long overdue.
It is hoped that the BW dollar is a currency for everyone, and we believe that it’s essential for many people to be involved in its creation. Bitwalking want to thank those that have been working with them - from artists in Brooklyn, politicians in Tokyo, community hubs in Malawi, beta testers worldwide, and many more.
While releases and events for 2016 are being developed, they are keeping the door open for those interested in the creation of Bitwalking. No matter what your background, you will be able to get involved and take a leading role in the project. Details are to come.
For those who solely want an invite to join in their country, they thank you for our patience. Bitwalking are with us, and look forward to sharing what they’ve been working on in solidarity.

I honestly hope this becomes available across the globe soon and that many similar initiatives will be developed as well. The world needs them.
