If this World Bank article is right 43% of the world population is under 25 and 70% of those believe that social media is a force for change. Perhaps we need to listen more and lean from our young?

It seems clear that social media has been a huge catalyst in changing the way people interact. Direct contact between groups allows far greater sharing of ideas and opinions. Moreover it seems that social media is actually eroding the concept of greed.

A good example is Crowdsourcing where collaboration is replacing the old paradigm of creating something for personal gain. It has shown that people are far more willing to work together to solve problems, define and refine new ideas.

Social media as we know it today has only scratched the surface of possibilities for collaboration. The social media platforms of tomorrow will harness the potential to truly work together democatizing and empowering people to achieve common goals. Together we will change the world for the better.

I couldn't agree more Matt - let's standby the younger generations, use the technology and help the decision makers understand their people better! Sorry about the typo on linkedin, it is correct on finance-eco-money.org but maybe we are stretching the meaning of meeedia!

About helping, one concern is to know if your actions are effective. One website that I found may help people to know about it: http://www.lacalculettecollaborative.fr/.
(Sorry for English-speaking people, this website is only in French for the moment)

This website helps you calculating your CO2 footprint, and gives you suggestions to help reducing your footprint by using the share economy. It can be useful, I think.
